POSSIBLE ROLE OF IVERMECTIN IN PREVENTING BINDING OF SARS-CoV-2 SPIKE PROTEIN TO CELLS

The Spike Protein of SARS-CoV-2 is fundamental to the pathogenicity of the virus. There are many who advocate the use of ivermectin in treating both COVID-19 itself and/or the adverse effects of the COVID “vaccines” which themselves produce the pathogenic Spike Protein. But what is the possible mechanism?

Fundamental to the pathology of the SARS-CoV-2 virus is the ability of the Spike Protein on the surface of the virus to attach and bind to cell surfaces whether these cell surfaces be red blood cells or endothelial blood vessel cells (producing blood clotting), heart muscle cells (producing myocarditis), nerve tissue or other types of tissue to produce damage.  Preventing this binding could prevent the toxic effects of the Spike Protein originating from the virus or from the adverse effects of the COVID “vaccines” themselves both short-term and longer-term.

A detailed paper published in December 2022 explores the possible usefulness and mechanism of action of ivermectin in treating Spike Protein toxicity.  The binding of ivermectin to block glycan binding sites on cell surfaces provides an attractive rationale for the potential use of ivermectin to treat Spike Protein toxicity and an explanation for the reported usefulness of ivermectin in treating acute COVID-19 in many clinical studies.
