Just a quick anecdote. At a recent community Christmas function I talked with about five or six different groups and each family/individual had the most dreadful stories of loved ones who had died, suffer with debilitating diseases and conditions including cancer, neurological, and cardiac - not forgetting an incredible number of strokes. One was related to two paramedics who relayed that in their regional city two years ago they'd get 2 or 3 potential strokes call outs in a week. Now, they are getting 4 or 5 per day! I realise that doesn't translate to reliable data, but at some point a critical mass will be reached and the numbers will refuse to lie.
